The PIASLC will be offering a wide range of world-class sports, arts, wellness and recreational facilities and programmes for the enjoyment of visitors, students, their families, the local Phuket community as well as for visiting professional and amateur individual athletes and teams from around the world. PIASLC will establish a benchmark as a regional destination for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia, and perhaps the world. PIA is an integrated facility boasting Phuket’s newest International School, a multi-faceted Sports and Leisure Club for elite athletes, amateur enthusiasts, artists and wellness seekers – all within the Mind Centre sanctuary that provides training in the cultivation of mental and emotional balance. Phuket International Academy prides itself on being a responsible member of the community. It is dedicated to operating with integrity as an equal opportunity employer and adhering to the highest principled standards to accomplish the intellectual, physical, creative and spiritual potential of all students, members and participants of the three centres.

As part of a uniquely integrated complex, the Sports and Leisure Club works in synergy with both the PIADS and PIAMC. The PIADS is working to grow into a three programme International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The PIA Day School has excellent facilities, teachers, trainers, staff and administration. Click this link for additional information on the Phuket International Academy Day School International School Thailand.

Before buying a bicycle, you should make an effort and read up on various bicycle reviews that will provide you with all the necessary information about various makes and models of bicycles, and to also learn about all that is going on in the bicycling world. It is also not difficult to find bicycle reviews since almost every biking magazine and website will have them, and they are where you can get the latest information about latest in bikes, accessories as well as related products.

Find out About Everything Concerning Bicycles

In fact, after reading bicycle reviews, you will know what is happening in the bicycling world all round the globe, and the writers are usually quite knowledgeable and even some are expert bikers that have international experience and who are also adept at recreational, mountain and road race biking. They can give you an insiders perspective on the good and the bad of each model and make of bike, and you can also find out more about national cycling events.

In many cases the review sites you visit will be sponsors and promoters of biking events. This will help you to find out how to get involved in an event. It is also a good way to glean information by getting firsthand knowledge and experience from veterans concerning thier expertise with different bicycles. It matters little what level of biker you are since these bicycle reviews have many points of interest for every type of biker that will suit the beginner as well as seasoned rider, and thus will points you in the right direction with regard to the most suitable biking option for your particular needs.

Bicycle reviews are also useful for the competitive rider as they provide information about how to train and ride better, and among the helpful tips that you can get, you can include things such as power pedaling and resistance training as well as ways to pedal better. Such bicycle reviews are equally of interest to the competitive rider as they are to the regular rider and even the newbie. And, after reading them, you could become the proud owner of the appropriate bike as well as have improved on your riding skills.

If you don’t want to go by what is written in bicycle reviews, you could always visit the local bicycle shop, or even an online store, and get the staff there to provide you with the necessary information. And, with so many different bicycle stores and online shops, you can find what you are looking for, and by also combining the knowledge you gained from reading bicycle reviews; you can always come up trumps with your purchase and other riding needs.

If you want to get in shape, biking is a great way to go. Cycling helps you get around, stay healthy, and avoid dumping gas into your car! As you may know, there's more than one type of cycling out there. In this article, we will explain the different types of cycling, and how to get started with each of them.

Let's talk about commuter bikes first. Commuter bikes, as their name suggests, are bikes designed just to get around town. These can be anything from old mountain bikes, road bikes, single speed bikes, or any other comfortable inexpensive bicycle. Because of the high gas prices today, commuter bikes are getting more and more popular. If your aim is to put to get around, a commuter bike is the way to go.

If you're for little more adventure, a mountain bike might be for you. Mountain bikes are rugged bikes intended for off-road use. These bikes have large, knobby tires that make them ideally suited for off-road use. The two main styles are hard tail and full suspension. Today, full suspension bikes are by far the most popular. However they're also the most expensive. If you're looking to save money, hard tails might be the way to go. You can also save money by going for a used mountain bike.

If you are feeling the need for speed, road biking might be for you. These fast, sleek bikes are very fun to ride for long distances. Road cycling is also a great aerobic exercise, and a means of transportation. Today's road bikes are made of many high-tech materials, such as carbon fiber. Buying a carbon fiber road bike can set you back a bit, but the result is worth it for many. Buying a road bike can be a little tricky for new riders, but if you get somebody at the shop to help you, it shouldn't be too bad.

If you're feeling a little unconventional, cyclocross bike might be for you. A cyclocross bike is a combination of a road bike and a mountain bike. These bikes closely resemble road bikes, but have knobby mountain bike like tires that allow them to handle basic off-road. Cyclocross bikes are great for competing in cyclocross events, as well as getting around town. Their fast yet rugged design makes them ideal each suited for a broad range of purposes.

As you might expect, there are many different disciplines within cycling. In the following paragraphs, you will learn out the different types of bikes out there, and what they can do for you.

Let's talk about commuter bikes first. Commuter bikes, as their name suggests, are bikes designed just to get around town. Because of the high gas prices today, commuter bikes are getting more and more popular. If you want to replace your car with a bike as much as possible, this is the way to go.

If you like things a little rougher, give a mountain bike a try. Mountain bikes are rugged bikes intended for off-road use.
If you're feeling a little unconventional, cyclocross bike might be for you. A cyclocross bike is basically a road bike with knobby tires and a slightly different geometry. These bikes closely resemble road bikes, but have knobby mountain bike like tires that allow them to handle basic off-road. Cyclocross is its own sport, where riders race over all sort of terrain, but these bikes are also great for just getting around. They are fast, yet rugged, so they are suited for a broad range of different activities.

touring bicycle

For anyone who knows how to ride a bike, mountain biking is an exciting sport. Compared to the average bike ride, it does present some danger. Therefore, you should master these basic skills before you hit the trails or the dirt. You can practice these beginning skills at a local park, school, bike path, or simply around your house. If you can, try to find a location with a steep hill.

Get a feel for your pedals

Practice moving your foot away from the pedal, first while sitting on your bike with one foot on the ground. Next up, release and replace your foot placement when pedaling around for a while. Those with toe clip and clipless type foot pedals will want to spend a bit more time practicing. Just remember that this is not a bike racing competition.

Sit and spin for position

Simply sit on your bike and pedal around. You should keep your arms slightly bent. Also make necessary changes to the height of the seat for your leg is 70 - 90% extended at every rotation of the pedal. Keep your body relaxed, as there will never be a position where you should have either your knees or your elbows locked.

Shifting gears

Get a feel for shifting gears with your road bike. The higher gears are harder to pedal and will go faster while the lower gears are easier to pedal and will help you ascend hills. When approaching a more steeper hill, it is best to shift gears before reaching the hill rather than while you are on it.

Coasting

You should spend a bit of time coasting while standing on your pedals, without actually sitting on the seat. Keep your arms bent but don't lock your knees. Now, try experimenting with shifting your body towards the rear end of the bike.

Pedal while standing

You should get as comfortable as you can with pedaling while standing on your bike. Stand on the pedals and move them around. Try this on lower gears while on a hill, and higher gears on flat ground.

Dropping down a curb

Try finding a curb where you can easily get to the upper portion of it. Practice at a moderate speed, standing and coasting right off the curb from the upper level to the lower level. Try this at different speeds until it becomes second nature.

You will be able to travel on feeling good on your mountain bike once you practice your techniques and get used to them. Even though it may take some getting used to, it'll become second nature before you know it.
