White Water Rafting; Paradise on Earth in Canada

November 19th, 2007

If paradise is on earth, then white water rafting paradise is in Canada. There are a number of locations that have incredible scenery and that form a wonderful backdrop for Canadian white water rafting. Climbing aboard a raft for an adventure down a river is fun almost anywhere, but white water rafting in Canada is in a league of its own. There are pristine rivers, towering mountains, and marvelous skies that make this activity a memorable experience that draws most people back for repeat trips.

Some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole world is in Banff, Alberta where a great river rolls past the mountains. Pictures of Banff always present a fantastic image, but the real scenery in unbelievable. The entire scene in Banff is beautiful through every season of the year. Kicking Horse River is Canadian white water rafting at its best. There are special trips available for people young and old, and the river always lives up to its name. Each traveler on a raft down Kicking Horse River will feel the same exhilaration as a cowboy on a kicking horse going for a championship. Rafters can choose a half day trip on Kicking Horse River or they can spend an entire day in this wonderful place.

Canadian white water rafting trips begin with a diverse group of rafters. There are children as young as eight years old accompanied by octogenarians. Everyone comes away pleased with the trip, and many of the rafters are return visitors. The guides know how to help first time rafters, and they know how to make each trip special for those on repeat trips. The trip is never boring.

A half day on Kicking Horse is rarely calm, but always fantastic. As rafters go down the river they will experience more than one set of rapids. Some of the rapids on this river are so special that they have names such as “Roller Coaster” and “Goat Rapid”.

There is one thing all rafters will have to remember before they start out on a trip down Kicking Horse River. You will all be drenched in the pure water of this mountain river by the time the trip ends.
