Electric Scooter Bikes are Great Fun

June 30th, 2009

There are many ways to get around town. There are cars, and motorcycles and trucks. But have you considered ebikes. For instance, an electric scooter bike can bridge the gap between bike and motorcycle by providing you with a simple to use, easy and cheap to fuel vehicle that gets you from place to place as fast as you need to go. Traditional bike require pedal power. An electric scooter bike runs on a battery powered motor at speeds about 20 miles per hour. If you want to operate it on the street, though, you may need a specific driiver’s license.

An ebike scooter is very cheap to buy and operate. Since the bike is powered by electricity, there is no fuel to buy or run out of. Your cost for a 25 mile charge will be about 25 cents, and you are fully aware of what a tank of gas costs these days. This vehicle is much less expensive, too. Scooters typically range in price from just under a thousand to five thousand dollars, unlike cars which start from ten thousand, or motor cycles which start somewhere in between the two.

Environmentally friendly, these electric motor scooter ebikes don’t put out any harmful emissions like their gas cousins. The only pollution from an ebike comes from whatever the local power plant puts out and the possibility of improper battery disposal. Ebikes do use high capacity batteries though, which must be disposed of correctly and cannot just be thrown out. Fortunately, these high capacity batteries also last a very long time so this does not come up often.

Anyone who has learned how to ride a bike can ride one, but check your local laws to find out if you need a license. Kids and young children should never be driving an electric scooter ebike. But for adults, it’s a fun way to commute or zip across town.

These motor scooter ebikes do not need pedaling, although it is an option on many of them. Most scooter types were designed to let the rider sit down and enjoy the ride. Using an electric scooter bike you can travel any distance at a speed that would wear you out on a regular bike.
